Over a month after the release of the first teaser, Universal has released the full trailer for “Wolf Man” during New York Comic Con (NYCC). Leigh Whannell (“SAW“) directs from a script co-written with Rebecca Angelo, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Corbett Tuck. This is also Whannell’s second foray into the world of Universal monsters after 2020’s “The Invisible Man.”

“These classic monsters are durable, you can make them contemporary,” said Whannell about the upcoming film at NYCC.

    The Plot

“Wolf Man” centers around Blake (Christopher Abbott), a San Francisco man who inherits his remote childhood home in Oregon. After his father mysteriously vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to Charlotte (Julia Garner) crumbling, he talks her into taking a break and visiting the place with their daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth).

The family plans to unwind and reconnect go awry on their first night there when they’re attacked by an unseen animal. The family decides to barricade themselves in the home as some kind of protection against this beast prowling their land. But as the night wears on, a new issue arises, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something… else. This forces Charlotte to decide where the real danger lies, inside or out in the woods.

    “Wolf Man” Trailer

This newly released trailer opens on a terrified family in a moving van desperately trying to keep an unseen force out. That is until it bursts open a window to attack Blake and flip the van on its side. They escape inside the house where we see a montage of clips from the film including Blake’s mangled arm. Alleviating any doubt as to who our true Wolf Man will be.

“Wolf Man” hits theaters on January 17th, 2025. You can check out the first trailer below:
