With the success of 2014’s “Paddington” and 2023’s “Wonka,” director Paul King has his family-friendly sights set on the biggest game of all, Disney. It’s being reported that King has signed on to direct The House of Mouse’s upcoming “Prince Charming” movie. He will be co-writing the script with Simon Farnaby (“Ghosts”) and Jon Croker (“No One Gets Out Alive”).
The trio previously penned the script for 2017’s “Paddington 2.”

“Prince Charming”
Details about the plot are still being kept under wraps. Given Disney’s long-standing tradition of pulling characters from literature, it’s anyone’s guess which version of the character we’ll get.
The company has often used the idea of Prince Charming in films like “Sleeping Beauty,” “Snow White,” and “Cinderella.” All three movies, rest on the premise of a young woman finding her true love to undo various forms of misfortune. “Sleeping Beauty” and “Snow White” involve a supernatural element like a curse that can only be broken by true love. Whereas, “Cinderella” focused more on escaping an abusive home life after a chance meeting with royalty.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about Disney’s “Prince Charming” movie as they become available.
