October is well and truly upon us now. Obviously this is PEEK Spooky Season, and that means various companies are starting to roll out special offerings and themed releases. Like our friends over at Krispy Kreme, and their special “Ghostbusters” 40th anniversary doughnuts!

    • Ghostbusters Cookies N’ Creme Doughnut made with OREO® – an Original Glazed® doughnut dipped in chocolate icing, topped with OREO® pieces, a dollop of buttercreme with OREO® crumbles, and a No Ghost logo candy.
    • Slimer Doughnut – an unglazed doughnut filled with lemon-flavored green filling, dipped in purple and green icing, and finished with a Slimer candy.
    • Ecto-Sprinkled Doughnut – an Original Glazed® doughnut dipped in orange icing, topped with neon sprinkles.
    • Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Doughnut Pull-Apart – Original Glazed® Doughnut Dots dusted with powdered sugar, topped with marshmallow-flavored buttercreme, and a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man candy.

Oh yeah, there’s also Slimer’s Slime-Ade Chiller, a signature green ectoplasm-inspired drink. It’s apparently a “refreshing frozen lemonade flavored treat, made with real fruit and sweetened cane sugar.”

These offerings will be available at participating Krispy Kreme stores across the US and Canada starting this week.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
