Out of all the 90s cartoons that could possibly get a live-action film, we were honestly not expecting this one. Nickelodeon’s “Rugrats” is apparently being developed by Paramount as a feature film, and it’ll be live-action. Now, that could mean ‘live-action’ ala Jon Favreau‘s “Jungle Book” or “The Lion King.” But it could also mean actual real live-action.
Tony nominee Jason Moore (“Avenue Q“) will direct from a script by “Saturday Night Live” alums Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell.
That’s….sort of all we know right now. But we’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
UPDATE
Sounds like the plan is for a live-action / CG hybrid, with the babies being “fully CG,” but everything else being “live-action.”
