Amy Adams May be Turning Into a Dog in “Nightbitch” Trailer

Every first-time mother faces their own set of challenges. Some are universal like, how to provide the best care for your newborn while completely exhausted? Others are unique to each mother. Like, for example, turning into a dog.

If you think that sounds like the plot of a zany new horror comedy, well you’re right, it is.

In the upcoming movie, “Nightbitch” we see six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams play a new mom who may be turning into a dog. Directed by Marielle Heller the story is based on Rachel Yoder‘s 2021 novel of the same name.

    “Nightbitch”

“Nightbitch” tells the story of a woman stuck in the stay-at-home routine, raising a toddler in the suburbs. However, she slowly begins to embrace the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood. All while she begins to notice more and more bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.

The trailer sets the film up as just another domestic drama. We see Adam’s character racing around trying to keep a household together while her husband (Scoot McNairy) is at work. Then shifting into a montage of her meeting other bored housewives and being told she should be grateful to be a stay-at-home mom.

The tone starts to shift when her toddler points out that she’s “fuzzy.” Next thing you know Adam is eating dog food, walking on all fours, and hanging out with other doggos. She even makes a not-so-humble brag about the walnut-crushing powers of her lady garden.

Adams stars alongside Mary Holland, Jessica Harper, Zoë Chao, Ella Thomas, and Stacey Swift.

“Nightbitch” hits theaters on December 6th. You can check out the first trailer below:
