If you’ve been a fan of professional wrestling anytime in the past few decades you’ve heard the name Vince McMahon. Netflix is releasing the docu-series “Mr. McMahon,” which provides a look into WWE’s controversial co-founder.
The series is directed by Chris Smith, who also helmed the streamer’s covid lockdown mega-hit “Tiger King.” Smith seeks to “pull back the curtain to reveal the true Vince McMahon obscured beneath the persona he presented to the world.”
“Over the four years of production, the story evolved in truly shocking ways, culminating in some extremely harrowing allegations,” Smith told Netflix. “The final product is a revealing documentary that we believe offers a rich and nuanced portrait of the man and the complex legacy he left behind.”
“Mr. McMahon”
This docu-series is created from over 200 hours of interviews with McMahon (before he resigned), his family, business associates, and some of the most iconic names in wrestling history. Alongside journalists who have uncovered some serious allegations against him.
It will take a look at the journey WWE took from a small company to a global entertainment powerhouse. While also looking at several sexual misconduct allegations that eventually led to his resignation.
All six episodes of “Mr. McMahon” will premiere on Netflix on September 25th.
