What’s yellow, blue, and grouchy all over? Wolverine, after being tricked by Deadpool to promote their movie to Bachelor Nation. The merc with the mouth assures our favorite Canadian mutant that promoting the film as the perfect date movie will have everyone flocking to theaters. Naturally, Logan’s all but fed up with Wade’s antics within the first three seconds.
But let’s be real, Deadpool’s a lot better with the millennials and Gen-Zers than Wolverine. Who faces Deadpool’s keyword suggestions with a confusion we can only describe as “Tired Dad”. So he takes a back seat and lets Wade cover the promo for “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Honestly, this dynamic could only be achieved by Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
Naturally, Wade’s not going to let his companion escape this promo unscathed, gesturing for the camera to pan away and focus on Logan’s…assets. Can’t say we blame him. At 55, Jackman’s physique is still impressive, despite what appears to be some clever padding in his new, yellow suit. But who’s complaining? Not us. As far as we’re concerned, this movie is made for fun, to be fun, and to be exactly what the partnership between Deadpool and Wolverine is: a mouthy fanboy annoying the ever-loving heck out of the most popular and least personable X-Man. All while trying to save the world.
No One Understands The Character Better
From the first “Deadpool,” Reynolds has flawlessly embodied the character and promoted the films in a way befitting the role. From fourth wall breaks, to being fully aware of the different movie-verses, yet present in his own, Deadpool is a character that practically made for movies. And putting him together with different Marvel characters is never not a good time. Especially given the deep friendship between Jackman and Reynolds, we’re getting a huge kick out of the promotions leading up to the film. We can only hope that it lives up to the hype and then some. And if not? Well, at least two best friends had a really fun time with each other.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” hits theaters July 26th, 2024.
