Detective Benoit Blanc is back! Director Rian Johnson has confirmed the title for the third installment in his “Knives Out” series, “Wake up Dead Man.” Johnson posted a teaser as well as confirmed a 2025 release window this morning.

“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” Netflix

“In the beginning, the knives came out,” star Daniel Craig narrates. “Then, behold, the glass was shattered. But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed.” Craig is referencing the previous two films 2019’s “Knives Out” and 2022’s “Glass Onion.” The actor has played Detective Benoit in each installment of the franchise.

    The Build Up

Like any good whodunnit, Johnson teased the news by first posting a picture of a Pokémon egg captioned with “Oh?”

“I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies,” a follow-up post reads. “We’re about to go into production on the 3rd one, and I’m very, very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it’s going.”

Of course, all culminating in the big title and teaser reveal.

“Wake Up Dead Man,” will be a part of a larger two-sequel deal between Johnson and Netflix. The streamer procured the rights to the franchise for $450 million.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Wake Up Dead Man,” as they become available. You can check out the 45-second teaser below:
