Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the rights to the upcoming action comedy “Brothers,” starring Josh Brolin (“Dune: Part Two“) and Peter Dinklage (“Unfrosted“). It is directed by Max Barbakow (“Palm Springs”), and written by Macon Blair (“The Toxic Avenger”) from a story by Etan Cohen (“The Bad Guys”). The streamer also confirmed some major additions to the cast!

Brolin and Dinklage will star alongside Oscar winner Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”), eight-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close (“Swan Song”), Taylour Paige (“Zola”), and Jennifer Landon (“Yellowstone”). The late character actor M. Emmet Walsh (“Knives Out”) will also star in one of his last performances.
What’s “Brothers” About?
The film centers around a reformed criminal (Brolin) trying to go straight. However, cleaning up his act gets derailed when he reunites with his twin brother (Dinklage). The duo embarks on a road trip for the score of a lifetime. All while dodging bullets, law enforcement, and an overbearing mother. Will they be able to heal their severed family bond before they end up killing each other?
“Brothers” is produced by Brolin via his JB Productions banner, Dinklage and his partner David Ginsberg for Estuary Films, and Andrew Lazar of Mad Chance. Trish Stanard will executive produce.
Amazon MGM Studios will release “Brothers” theatrically on October 1st. A streaming primer on Prime Video will follow on October 17th. We’ll keep you posted on updates about this project as they become available.
