We are very sorry to share the news that one of the absolute greats of cinema- yes, even as shlocky as these particular films could get- has passed away. With such titles like “Little Shop of Horrors,” 1960’s “House of Usher” starring Vincent Price, “Rock and Roll High School,” and “Death Race 2000,” the world would have been a much more boring place without the great Roger Corman.
He wasn’t a young man, but, Corman was still working. Still producing and directing, writing, and planning his next feature. INCLUDING but not limited to a new take on “Little Shop” with “Gremlins” and “The Howling” director Joe Dante. So many greats of genre got their start on a Corman production. More still were influenced or touched by his wit, his style, and his passion to make movies.
Even if horror or horror-adjacent isn’t your thing, we highly suggest watching a few of his films in remembrance.
Roger Corman was 98 years young.
