If you are a resident of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and you want to sponsor a relative for a visit, you may need to obtain an Affidavit of Support and Guarantee (ASG) in Dubai. This is a legal document that serves as a proof of your financial responsibility and commitment to support your sponsored family member during their stay in the country. In this article, we will explain what an ASG is, who needs it, and how to get it.

Did you know that many people who file an Affidavit of Support also play BetWinner APK? It’s a great way to make extra cash in your spare time.

What is an Affidavit of Support and Guarantee (ASG)?

An ASG is a document required by Philippine immigration for Filipinos traveling directly to the UAE, especially for those who cannot establish their financial capacity. This document acts as a guarantee that a Filipino sponsor in the UAE will support and take care of their relatives during their visit.

The ASG is authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Philippine Consulate and is often a prerequisite for processing visit visa applications for family members. The purpose of this requirement is to prevent trafficking in persons, illegal recruitment, and other related offenses, as many victims of illegal recruitment have arrived in the UAE on visit or tourist visas.

Who are the eligible relatives for ASG?

The ASG is applicable for relatives within the 1st and 2nd degree of consanguinity or affinity, as defined by the Philippine Consulate. These are:

    • 1st degree by consanguinity: Parents, children.
    • 1st degree by Affinity: Spouse.
    • 2nd degree by consanguinity: Grandparents, brothers/sisters, grandchildren.
    • 2nd degree by Affinity: Parent-in-law, son/daughter-in-law.

    Documentary Requirements

To apply for an ASG at PCG Dubai, you must be a Filipino resident in the UAE who wishes to sponsor a relative for a visit to the UAE. To apply for a visa, you need the following documents:

    1. Your employment contract, which has been verified by POLO and is a MOHRE contract if you work in the private sector.

    2. Your salary slips for the last six (6) months.

    • A current Salary Certificate/Addendum with the Company stamp, and
    • Bank Statements that show your updated salary for the last six (6) months and have the Bank stamp.

    Note:

    1. The Philippine Consulate does not decide or set the income threshold that you need to meet.
    2. The income threshold is based on the cost-of-living estimates from reliable financial institutions in the UAE.
    3. The income threshold is updated regularly to reflect the current situation. Some visa categories, such as Household Service Workers (HSWs), cannot sponsor others.
    4. Senior Citizens (60 years old and above) and Minors (17 years old and below) do not need to get an Affidavit of Support and Guarantee.
    5. You must translate all documents in Arabic to English legally.

How to Get an Affidavit of Support and Guarantee (ASG) in Dubai?

To apply for an ASG in Dubai, you need to follow these steps:

    1. Gather all the necessary documents, such as:
    • Valid identification documents: A valid passport or Emirates ID.
    • Proof of relationship: A birth certificate, marriage certificate, or any other document that proves the relationship between the sponsor and the sponsored person.
    • Financial documents: Sponsor must furnish the proof on income in the UAE based on the following thresholds:
    • Single person = AED 10,000.00
    • Family of two = AED 14,000.00 wherein family of two is either husband and wife or single parent and child.
    • Family of three = AED 16,000.00 wherein family of three is husband and wife with one child or single parent with two children.
    • Family of four = AED 18,000.00 wherein family of four is husband and wife with two children or single parent with three children.
    • Letter of invitation: A letter of invitation from the sponsor addressed to the sponsored person, indicating the purpose and duration of the visit.
    • Proof of Accommodation: Sponsor should submit a proof of accommodation in the UAE, such as:
    • Tenancy Contract from the municipality under his/her name; or
    • If Tenancy Contract is not under the name of the Sponsor, a Hotel Booking duly stamped by the hotel or travel agency with the duration of stay of the visitor with flight ticket.
    1. Register your application and upload your documents through the consulate’s portal: Affidavit of Support and Guarantee Online Pre-Assessment System.
    2. Wait for the confirmation email from the consulate with the schedule of your appointment.
    3. Visit the consulate on your scheduled date and time with your original documents and pay the processing fee.
    4. Receive your authenticated ASG from the consulate.

Note: The applicant/s should sign the document/s in person at the Consulate General office. This is a mandatory requirement for the Affidavit of Support and Guarantee.
