Ewan McGregor Joins Anne Hathaway in Possible Dinosaur Film

Writer/director David Robert Mitchell (“It Follows”) is teaming up with JJ Abrams‘ company Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Pictures to bring us a currently untitled movie. Despite very little being known about this upcoming film, Ewan McGregor (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”) has just signed up to star alongside Anne Hathaway (“The Witches”).

Since the plot is still being kept under wraps the online rumor mill is, of course, hard at work posing theories. The top contender is that this will be a 1980-style dinosaur film. [Once you factor in that Hathway already played a giant Kaiju in 2016’s “Colossal” it seems less far-fetched.] Sources have vaguely described it as a “thrill-ride” to be shot in IMAX, so dinosaurs are still possible but far from confirmed.

We do know Mitchell will direct from his own original script. He will also be working as a producer with Abrams and Hannah Minghella of Bad Robot, and Matt Jackson of Jackson Pictures. Executive producers include Jake Weiner and Chris Bender for Good Fear Content. Sheila Walcott and Zach Hamby are overseeing the untitled film for Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group.

    Anne Hathaway, “WeCrashed” Apple TV+

You can catch Hathaway in her most recent Apple TV+ series “WeCrashed,” co-starring fellow Academy Award winner Jared Leto. She and Disney have also confirmed a third “Princess Diaries” film is currently in the works. McGregor will star in the upcoming Showtime and Paramount Global miniseries “A Gentleman in Moscow,” which he executive produced. He is also in Niclas Larsson’s dramedy “Mother Couch,” with Rhys Ifans, Taylor Russell, and Ellen Burstyn. And, you know- “Obi Wan Kenobi,” which is streaming on Disney+.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about this David Robert Mitchell film as they become available. All while we cross our fingers for it to be about dinosaurs.
