Ever since Stephen Spielberg’s “Jaws” hit screens in 1975, there has been no shortage of filmmakers adding to the shark attack genre. Either by earnest attempts to pay tribute to the iconic film, or by doing something outright goofy like throwing them into tornados. RLJE Films’ “No Way Up” is promising us something we’ve never seen before- sharks on a plane.
Directed by Claudio Fäh, from a screenplay by Andy Mayson, the film will center around a plane that crashes into the Pacific Ocean that comes to rest on the edge of a ravine. The surviving passengers are now in a race against time as their oxygen dwindles, and water threatens to rush in. While the simple solution would be just to break out and swim to safety, they are surrounded by sharks just looking for a good meal.
The cast for “No Way Up” includes Sophie McIntosh (“Brave New World”), Will Attenborough (“The Diplomat”), Jeremias Amoore (“Zero Chill”), Manuel Pacific (“Terminator: Dark Fate”), Grace Nettle (“War of the Worlds”), Phyllis Logan (“Downton Abbey”), and Colm Meaney (“The Serpent Queen”).
“No Way Up” will hit theaters and VOD on February 16th. You can check out the trailer below:
