Last year it was announced the filmmaking collective Radio Silence would be directing a new monster movie for Universal. It has now been confirmed that the film is called “Abigail,” it will open in theaters this spring, and we even got a trailer!

“Abigail,” follows a group of would-be criminals as they kidnap the seemingly innocent 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure. All they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl in an isolated mansion, overnight. It seems like a piece of cake until they start to drop dead, one by one. That is when they discover that they’re not locked inside with a normal little girl, but a bloodthirsty vampire.

This plotline also explains why it was so heavily rumored to be an adaptation of “Dracula’s Daughter,” when the project was first announced.

Radio Silence is made up of filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villell. Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett will be directing the new film, with Villella producing. “Abigail,” will star Melissa Barrera, who they previously worked with on “Scream VII.” The cast also includes Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand, and the late Angus Cloud as the kidnappers. With Alisha Weir starring as the titular Abigail.

“Abigail,” will open in theaters nationwide on April 19th. You can check out the first trailer below:
