Actor Christopher Abbott (“Poor Things”) will lead Leigh Whannell’s (“The Invisible Man”) upcoming movie, “Wolf Man.” The past three years of production has not only shifted lead actors, but directors as well. Ryan Gosling was originally set to star, but has stepped back to an executive producer role for undisclosed reasons. [Though we doubt it was him bringing a lack of Kenergy to the part.]
While Whannell was the first director attached to this project, he was replaced by Derek Cianfrance in 2021, only to come back on board.
Even with all the pieces coming together, Blumhouse and Universal are still keeping plot details hush-hush. However, we do know that it will be focused on a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.
Whannell co-wrote “Wolf Man” with Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo. Jason Blum will be acting as producer for the film. With Whannell, Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, and Mel Turner executive producing.
“Wolf Man” is set to hit theaters on October 25th, 2024. We’ll keep you posted on any updates as they become available.
