Adult animated series “South Park” is coming back with another special for Paramount+ this month. Titled “South Park: Joining the Panderverse,” this is the first special that the series has produced in over a year.
“Cartman’s deeply disturbing dreams portend the end of the life he knows and loves. The adults in ‘South Park‘ are also wrestling with their own life decisions as the advent of AI is turning their world upside down,” the official synopsis reads.

A brief teaser trailer was released, announcing the air date for the special on Paramount+. And there is a lot going on in the trailer. Characters are seen becoming different genders, ages, and races. The series is known for offering a satirical look at current topics. Perhaps identity politics will also be tackled in the special along with AI.
This new special will be following the events of the previous specials released on Paramount+ since 2021. The “Post Covid” and “Streaming Wars” specials were done in two parts, so it is unclear if the new special will follow the same format. Each special held the equivalent of a hour per part, so technically we have gotten two “South Park” movies.
Last year “South Park” celebrated 25 years since it aired on Comedy Central. Over those 25 years, we’ve seen two video games, an official movie, four specials, and 26 seasons. And there’s still more on the way, with the series being approved up to season 30.
“South Park: Joining the Panderverse” will be streaming on October 27th, 2023 in the U.S. and Canada on Paramount+. It will be made available in the U.K. and Australia next day. Check out the teaser now!
