Los Angeles police were called on the First Assistant Editor for “Saw X,” Steve Forn, due to neighbors hearing screams. As the director of the latest installment of the franchise, Kevin Greutert , revealed in a recent interview.

The incident occurred while Forn was finishing the sound design for a particularly grizzly scene in his North Hollywood, LA office. It was the “eye vacuum trap” scene where a character must escape or risk losing their peepers. So obviously, the sequence involves a lot of screaming and gruesome sound effects.
“There was a knock at the door,” Greutert explained to NME. “We have the doorbell [camera] video of the police walking up, [Forn answering the door] and the police saying, ‘The neighbours [have been] calling and saying someone’s being tortured to death in here.’
“And he was like, ‘Actually, I’m just working on a movie… You can come in and see it if you want?’ The cops started laughing! They said, ‘We want to but, you know, you’re all right.’” It must have been a pretty realistic performance!”

Adding, “It’s a pretty funny story… Plus Steve is such a mild mannered guy. I can only imagine the look on his face when he realised what was happening!”
This story is a first for the long-running “Saw” horror franchise. Even for a series veteran like Greutert, who has already directed three installments and has edited seven, including the original film.
The recently released “Saw X” is the tenth film in the series and is based soon after the events of the original 2004 film. It continues to follow the exploits of villain/anti-hero John Kramer aka Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) as he travels to Mexico for a medical procedure to potentially cure his cancer. Instead, he finds a scam operation set up to defraud incredibly vulnerable and desperate people. So he does what he does best, exact bloody and violent revenge.
“Saw X” is currently in theaters. You can check out the trailer below, just be sure to keep your volume down if you have thin walls:
