Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder Star as House Flippers in “The Curse”

SHOWTIME is partnering with A24 for an interesting show about the seemingly hate-filled relationships of house flippers, “The Curse.” In the new teaser, we get first look at Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder as a house flipping couple.

The teaser shows Fielder and Stone as couple Asher and Whitney Siegel, filming takes for the opening of their mock HGTV show. While the couple appear warm and fuzzy about each other, viewers can tell something is off. As the couple go over their clichéd lines with fake enthusiasm and forced smiles, there is unsettling music in the background. Perhaps this music is foreshadowing the work of an alleged curse that is set on tearing the two apart.

Fielder created this series with Benny Safdie, who also stars in alongside the couple as their TV show producer. This 10 episode series will be Fielder’s return to television after being in the cult classic “Nathan for You,” and “The Rehearsal.”

We have to say, the entire concept for “The Curse” is very interesting. It’s taking a tongue-in-cheek approach towards home improvement shows featuring couples, but in a darker tone. Add in the theme of trying to conceive a child while doing this home improvement show, and it spells a recipe for disaster. This is definitely going on our watchlist.

“The Curse” will premiere on Paramount+, so long as you have the Showtime package. It will then air on Showtime on Sunday, November 12th, 2023 at 10pm. Check out the teaser now!
