Are you planning on taking a trip? Leaving the comforts of your home can be a scary proposition for many people, but there’s nothing quite like traveling the great outdoors to get away from your everyday stresses.

If you’re planning on taking a long car ride, though, you need to prepare for some road trip entertainment. Long car rides can be hard on both the body and mind. That’s why we’re going to show you a few different ideas that you can use during your journey.

Keep reading to learn five fun things to do on a long car ride.

    1. Watch Funny Movies

Watching funny movies is one of the road trip activities to pass the time. It’s important to remember to use headphones or, better yet, have an auxiliary cable plugged into your car’s sound system so everyone in the car can hear the movie and join in the fun.

There are many ways to do this, such as streaming a movie via an app, downloading a movie onto a laptop, or, for the old-fashioned way, bringing along a stack of DVDs. Try to pick movies that everyone in the car will enjoy, and don’t be afraid to get a few classics.

    2. Listen to a Fun Playlist or Podcast

Listening to a fun playlist or podcast on a long car drive can be great entertainment, especially if you plan. By doing a bit of research before taking your trip, you can make sure that you have the perfect playlist or podcast to suit your needs. Consider creating a special playlist to sing along with your friends or family while on the drive. There are also plenty of great road trip podcasts available that will make the time pass quickly.

    3. Talk and Share Stories

Talking and sharing stories is one of the best ways to have road trip fun. Begin by deciding on a theme to discuss. It could be your own experiences, your favorite celebrity or movie, a particular topic, etc.

Incorporate others in the discussion by asking everyone present to give their opinion, which encourages everyone to share. Create curiosity and add a humorous touch with anecdotes. You can even make up stories collaboratively!

    4. Play Different Games

Playing different travel games on a long car drive is a great way to entertain yourself and get everyone in the car involved. Some games you can play include I Spy, The Alphabet Game, the License Plate Game, 20 Questions, and Rhyme Time.

You can also opt to have online games like Bubbleshooter as one of your road trip games. All these different games can make car trips more entertaining while also passing the time.

    5. Have a Delicious Snack

Another way to ensure road trip fun is to have a delicious snack. Pack a picnic basket full of everyone’s favorite snacks and bring along a large cooler to keep beverages cold. Don’t forget to bring a variety of healthy snacks, too, like fruits, veggies, and high-energy trail mix.
