Japanese kawaii-metal band BABYMETAL has partnered with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello for a new song! “METALI!!” is their first release since being “reborn” with new member, MOMOMETAL, and latest album, “The Other One,” which released this March.

The song is described as incorporating “traditional J-RAP and Tom Morello’s legendary phenomenal guitar playing.”

The music video for “METALI!!” is amazing! All three members, SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL perform the song while dancing to the beat. Morello makes an appearance at 2:15 to perform his minute-long guitar part to end the song. Morello is a self-proclaimed big fan of BABYMETAL and has been trying to work with the group for some time now. Its nice seeing a rock-star’s dreams come true.

To me, this group is one that everyone should experience at least once. Their shows are legendary and they’ve accompanied some of the biggest names in Metal and Rock music. They incorporate the bubbly personality of J-Pop and Rap with the gritty hard hitting tones of Metal. The unique blend of genres is infectious and the accompanying music videos incorporate parts of Japanese culture. These girls just keep doing their thing and look amazing while they do it.

BABYMETAL’s North America tour with Dethklok is scheduled to begin on August 30th, 2023. Twelve of the shows have sold out, but there are still tickets available here. Until then, feel free to check out the newly released “METALI!!” music video:
