A new indoor theme park is opening soon in Arizona. Mattel Adventure Park will be home to attractions inspired by their most popular toys. The 9-acre theme park is set for just outside of Phoenix, and will be almost completely indoors.
This means air-conditioned, so park goers will not have to worry about 114+ scorching temperatures.
The four main areas we currently know about the park will be dedicated to Hot Wheels, He-Man, Barbie, and Thomas the Tank Engine. There is also a mini-golf course that will be themed around Mattel games.
The fast rollercoasters will be Hot Wheels inspired. One ride, the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker will reach a maximum height of 84 feet, right through the ceiling. The Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer will feature a double loop and two corkscrew inversions.
Barbie’s Beach House will be a walk-through attraction. The attraction will also include a Barbie Dream Closet experience for park goers. It’s rumored a “real-life” Barbie will be visible via hologram at this attraction. The attraction will have a rooftop bar and restaurant that overlooks the park.
For younger children, a section will be dedicated to Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends. The Thomas & Friends: World of Sodor will have seven age and height appropriate rides and attractions. There will also be a play area for little ones to run around.
Anyone who feels nostalgia for 80’s “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” or “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power,” will be happy for their own area. A 4,500 square foot laser tag arena built like Castle Greyskull is perfect for park goers wanting a little more action. Will you join the cause to help defeat Skeletor and save Eternia?
Mattel Adventure Park sounds like a paradise for anyone who grew up with, and still loves the toy manufacture. The park will be near the Start Farm Arena, and is looking at a 2024 opening.
