Taylor Swift May Play Mutant Dazzler in “Deadpool 3”

A new casting rumor making the rounds will have a lot of Swifties very excited. Dazzler, the mutant with the powers to turn sound vibrations into light and energy beams, may show up in “Deadpool 3.” According to some sources, Taylor Swift may be just the musician to bring the character to life.

    “Blank Space” Music Video

Dazzler aka Alison Blaire can manipulate sound into light. The louder the source, the more powerful the results. In her story she began by creating her own light shows, but learned quickly she could blind people with it. Eventually she learned how to create holograms and other distractions. She got to the point where she could also use hard light constructs that could be used as weapons. She can also shoot bursts of light out of her fingers, hands, eyes, etc.

Swift DOES have a similar appearance to Dazzler; a blond haired blue-eyed diva with dreams of becoming a famous singer. In the comics, Dazzler constantly struggles to balance her life between being a super hero and being a musician.

    Dazzler, Marvel Comics

The only holdup would be if Marvel Studios wanted to make a Dazzler solo film. With Swift’s career, it would be incredibly tough to keep her in the MCU, let alone as the main character for a potential film opportunity. This also isn’t the first time Taylor Swift has been rumored to play Dazzler.

Dazzler made her life-action debut in “X-Men: Dark Phoenix.” But before we knew Halston Sage was playing the part, writer/director Simon Kinberg shared this image which fueled fan speculation.

Lady Gaga was also rumored for Dazzler at one point, as well as another Mutant, Spiral.

“Deadpool 3”  is under the direction of Shawn Levy, who worked with Reynolds on “The Adam Project” and “Free Guy.” Levy also worked with Jackman on “Real Steel.” Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the scripts for the first and second films, are back this time.

Additional stars include Emma Corrin (“The Crown“), Matthew Macfayden (“Succession“), Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Previous “Deadpool” co-stars Rob Delany as Peter, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, and Stefan Kapicic as Colossus are also returning.

“Deadpool 3” has a release date of May 3rd, 2024. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
