“Avatar: The Last Airbender” Getting New Game

In the mid-2000s, Nickelodeon saw possibly one of its most popular shows ever. Despite the long-running nature of “Spongebob Squarepants” and a number of other titles, none stand out so much as “Avatar: The Last Airbender“. The popularity of the series about humans possessed with control over elements, and the one being in the world capable of using all together, changed the landscape of animated storytelling forever. 23 years later, the series is still going strong, having seen a resurgence in popularity when released on Netflix. As well as news of brand new animated movies. Now there will be a brand new way to enjoy the world of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” with the introduction of a new game.

Planned for 2024, the mobile game is being developed by Tilting Point and AN Games. The game is a multiplayer strategy game that will have players working together (with NPCs or otherwise, we’re not sure) to defeat a Barbarian Death Cult. While simultaneously exploring the world of Avatar in new ways. Players will manage armies and build cities. Tower defense RPG, maybe? We’re not altogether sure, but it’s early days. The game doesn’t even have a title yet. But we’ll let you know when it does.

CEO and founder of Tilting Point, Kevin Segalla, is very excited to be heading up the project, and is a bit of a fan himself. “My kids grew up watching “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and I was there for every episode. We loved it so much that when they got older, the whole family got our first tattoos – each of us with one of the four element symbols that best represented our personalities! Nickelodeon and Paramount Consumer Products created an amazing show, and between Tilting Point and the mobile strategy experts at AN Games, we are super excited to be making a game that will be just as amazing.”

Given our own love for ATLA, we may give this one a review when it comes out. Netflix’s upcoming live-action series will release sometime in 2024. Check out the first look here.
