Grab the tortilla chips and peppers- a semi crash on interstate 30 in Arkansas spilled thousands of containers of nacho cheese all over the freeway. The delicious disaster occurred when a truck carrying an 18-wheeler and the truck carrying the cheese merged into the same lane. Luckily, no one was harmed. But it does make for some good photos, and you can effectively call it an interstate cheeseway now!
Of all the semi spills, this one isn’t bad. It probably even smelled pretty good. Not like the Oregon hagfish spill of 2017, that left the freeway and cars doused in gallons of slime and fish. Or the offal spill in Australia that doused a residential neighborhood in a sea of foul-smelling pig guts. As spills go, this is a pretty good one. One has to wonder if a few drivers might have snuck a few containers of that processed cheese before moving on.

There’s always some level of delight mingled with tragedy when a semi transporting food tips. Provided no one is truly hurt, there’s something thrilling about seeing a truck spilling chocolate all over the roads, or skittles, or littering the pavement with donuts. Largely unsalvageable, yes, but it’s one of those “don’t see that everyday” events. Dunno about you, readers, but we’d find the nearest bag of tortilla chips and come running. But we’re glad it was all cleared safely and no one was harmed. Hopefully there were some salvageable containers that could be delivered to where they were going.
