Change Your Name, Get Free Subway For Life

Most fast food chains try and find a way to promote themselves in clever and interesting ways. Limited-time offers will always attract a customer base. But Subway is taking the cake. Their current running promotion can offer one winner free sandwiches for life. Woah. Really?? “How do we enter, Nerdbot??” Easy! Just change your name to “Subway.” Wait…what? Yup, that’s right. You can win free Subway sandwiches for the rest of your days. So long as you legally, bindingly change your name. To “Subway.” Hm.

Given the current economy, the issues regarding inflation, and various other difficulties with living comfortably, the idea of having $50,000 in sandwiches is…a little disheartening. Why not just award the winner the money just for being dedicated enough to change their name? Why trap it behind a wall of bread and toppings? Then again, is there any rule against taking those gift cards to one of those exchange stations once they’re legally yours? Food for thought. No pun intended.

Apparently the goal is to find the chain’s number one, sandwich-loving fan. And they expect you to make good on changing your name. Enough that the chain will pay the $750 to cover legal costs. After which, you will be rewarded with $50,000 in subway gift cards. Which apparently is enough to cover you for a lifetime of sandwiches. But you’ll have to act fast if you’re desperate for sammies.

The promotion runs August 1st-4th, with a random drawing on the 7th. You can enter here.
