Actor, comedian, and singer Jamie Foxx has broken his silence about his recent “medical complication.” While Foxx will not say what exactly is going on with him health-wise, it is severe enough to land him in the hospital back in April.
In the video, he thanks fans and his family for their unwavering support.

“I want to say thank you to everyone that’s prayed, sent me messages… I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back,” Foxx said. “I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through. And I know a lot of people were waiting or wanted to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see with me tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through.”
Though Foxx was understandably red-eyed throughout the entire video. Because he is only human and clearly dealing with a lot right now. Luckily, these seem to be tears of joy from all the love he has received during this difficult time.
He gave special thank yous to his daughter, Corinne Foxx, and his sister, Deondra Dixon, for “saving his life.” As well as keeping the details of his illness private from outsiders and the media. “So to them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video,” said Foxx. “I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way. And y’all know they kept it airtight. They didn’t let nothing out. They protected me. And that’s what I hope that everyone can have in moments like these.”
Unfortunately due to all the secrecy, the rumor mill has been going full steam ahead, or is it the toxic gossip train now? Either way, stories began to circulate that he was blind and paralyzed. He playfully crossed his eyes to show he is fine and laughed at the ridiculous tale. Though his journey to recovery hasn’t been smooth either.
“I went to hell and back. And my road to recovery had some potholes as well,” Foxx said. “But I’m coming back and I’m able to work, so I want to thank the people that let me work.” Him working again should help dispel the other rumor that he is actually a clone. Guess if Hollywood can’t use AI willie nilly clones are the next best thing.
“I love everybody and I love all of the love that I got,” Foxx concluded, fighting back tears. “If you see me out from now on and every once in a while I just burst into tears, it’s because it’s been tough. I was sick. But now I’ve got my legs under me, you’re gonna see me out.”
Even though Foxx returned home in May, he has not been seen in public again until earlier this month. When some fans spotted him on a yacht in the Chicago River. The actor is currently hosting the game show “Beat Shazam.”
