    Troy Kotsur, Benedict Cumberbatch Run Wild with Bear Grylls

    For many celebrities, the days of doing their own stunts is long dead. Safety regulations, lawsuit fear, and various other factors keep actors and actresses safe on set. Regardless of sporting physiques that look specifically capable of doing said stunts. However, in order to test their true skills for roughing it, many have taken up Bear Grylls challenge on his National Geographic series. As the newest season approaches, we know who will be trying their luck at survival this time around.

    We will see Oscar winners Troy Kotsur and Benedict Cumberbatch, Daveed Diggs, Oscar nominees Bradley Cooper and Cynthia Erivo, Russell Brand, Rita Ora, and Tatiana Maslany (“She-Hulk“) run wild with Grylls.

    “I’m really proud of this season. We’ve had incredible guests who pushed the boundaries in terms of terrain and the challenge,” Grylls said in a press release. “When there’s real tough weather with fun people, it’s often really compelling TV.” Obviously, just plopping a celebrity in the wilderness isn’t going to end well. Instead, celebs spend 48 hours with Grylls, after which they must take on nature themselves. But it isn’t simply a show about watching celebrities out of their element. Something about the outdoors makes people open up and relax. Grylls has shared memorable and personal moments with those she’s spent time with.

    “It’s as much about the stars and their own personal journeys and struggles and battles as it is about the adventure and the places,” he says. “I think that combination works well because it doesn’t feel like a performance, like a chat show does, where you’re dressed up and made up and you get three minutes.”

    Season 2 of “Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge” premiers on Disney+ on Sunday, July 9th.
