After 23 years, Ridley Scott‘s epic film “Gladiator” is bringing a sequel to the screen. Details of the film have trickled out slowly. Including the casting of Pedro Pascal most recently. However, there’s been trouble on set as a failed stunt injured ten on June 7th. Luckily, all injuries were not fatal.
“The safety and full medical services teams on-site were able to act quickly so that those who were impacted immediately received necessary care,” according to a report from a Paramount spokesperson. “They are all in stable condition and continue to receive treatment. The well-being of the cast and crew is of the utmost importance to us, and we have strict health and safety procedures in place on all our productions.”

The stunt failed while filming was proceeding in Morocco. Thankfully, there were no fatalities. But the accident still landed four stuntmen in the hospital. Six other members of the crew were treated for injuries. “We will continue monitoring the situation and taking all necessary precautions as we resume production,” says the spokesperson. There are no details as to what exactly went so wrong. It’s unlikely that Paramount wishes to share, either.
There are no concrete details as to the plot of the film. Only that it will star Lucius Verus as an adult, played by Paul Mescal. His mother, Lucilla, played by Connie Nielson will also be returning. Other new cast members include Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Joseph Quinn.
“Gladiator 2” is set to release November 22nd, 2024.
