Vin Diesel Threatens Third “Fast X” Film on Red Carpet

Okay, so…who woulda thought we’d still be talking about the “Fast & Furious” franchise 22 years later, because new films were coming? Sure, the “Family” has come back together for a 10th and 11th movie, but what about a 12th?

While doing red carpet press for “Fast X” in Rome, star Vin Diesel sorta kinda said we’re getting a 12th.

“Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter,” Diesel said. “And after the studio saw this one, they said, ‘Could you make “Fast X,” the finale, a trilogy?’” Co-star Michelle Rodriguez was quick to comment “It’s three acts in any story.”

Host Naz Perez then asked if they were “confirming right now that we’re getting a third movie.” Diesel, in his signature bashfulness during interviews, tried to pivot away from the topic. “You’re gonna get me in trouble here,” he said.

Exclusive! Vin Diesel slips the finale is a trilogy! What a night omg!!! ???????? also getting to meet fellow Dominican Michelle Rodriguez ?? Mi gente!!! Thank you @Universal Pictures + @The Fast Saga for this epic night. I never thought I could ever say I’m live from the Roman colosseum!!! I’m so eternally grateful ?????? #fastandfurious #fastxsaga #fastx #dominictoretto #lettyortiz #vindiesel #michellerodriguez

So, depending on the box office returns for “Fast X Part One” (May 19th) and “Fast X Part Two” (set for a 2025 date) we may see a 12th film.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
