Amazon has officially acquired writer/director Brian Otting‘s (“Prom Car ’91”) script for “Never Too Old to Die.” Action icon Sylvester Stallone will star in the new action comedy. The film tells the story of a mysterious murderer living in a retirement home for spies. This snaps a Cold War hero back into action, as he makes it his personal mission to find the assassin among them.

“Never Too Old to Die,” will be produced by both Stallone and Braden Aftergood of Balboa Productions. It will be the first project made under a multi-year, first-look deal between Stallone/Balboa Productions and Amazon Studios. Under this first-look deal, Stallone will write, direct, produce, and star in various film and television projects. Of both the scripted and unscripted varieties [color us curious]. All of these projects will be developed under Balboa Productions, which he founded with Aftergood in 2018. These films and shows will stream on Amazon Prime Video, with some possibly receiving a theatrical releases first

Balboa Productions is also currently working on the genre film “Scavenger Hunt,” written and directed by Elle Callahan (“Witch Hunt”) for MGM and Amazon Studios. You can catch Stallone in Paramount+‘s “Tulsa King,” which was renewed for a second season.

Currently, there is no director attached to “Never Too Old to Die.” We’ll keep you posted on updates about this and other projects as they become available.
