New M&Ms Flavor Marshmallow Crispy Treat Coming for Easter

Easter is fast-approaching. Supermarkets and stores are bursting with themed candies and treats. The usual jelly beans, marshmallow peeps, and chocolate bunnies are lining shelves. But for 2023, Mars is debuting a brand new M&M flavor to join the old standbys. Introducing the Marshmallow Crispy Treat M&M. A delicious crispy center wrapped white chocolate, and covered in a pastel crispy shell.

Tim LeBel, Mars Wrigley’s Sales President, hopes consumers will welcome the new flavor. “At Mars, we know core seasonal moments, like Easter, are an important occasion as people come together to celebrate with friends and family…Mars is focused on delighting shoppers with products that have become holiday traditions, while also introducing them to new seasonal flavor combinations, delivering moments of happiness with our products at the center of consumer celebrations.”

Obviously the candy can always be enjoyed on its own, but Mars suggests using the soft-colored candies as decorations. They recommend topping homemade rice crispy treats with them. But we think they’d look that much more festive topping an angel food cake, or Easter-themed cupcakes. Regardless of how you use them, they’re sure to be a lovely accent to your springtime desserts.

Easter is a big time for candy companies. Apparently consumers spend up to $3 billion collectively on Easter treats. Not surprising when you consider Easter egg hunts and filling plastic eggs with sweets. To say nothing of filling baskets with enough sugar to last a children months. Mars is optimistic that this new flavor will be one sought after for many years to come.
