In a recent auction of “Breaking Bad“ props and ephemera, one particular item caught the attention of many buyers. A pair of briefs belonging to the show’s lead character, Walter White. Though the underwear was not actually worn by actor Bryan Cranston, it was created as a matching pair. This was a prop pair made to be seen in Walter’s closet throughout the series. Despite initial estimates of the undergarment selling for around $5,000, the final bid far exceeded expectations. It ended up selling for an impressive $32,500 through Prop Store.

While the winning bidder remains anonymous, SAXX Underwear has since revealed themselves as the new owners of the iconic piece. The company teased that more details will be forthcoming about their plans for the famous undies.

“Breaking Bad” Popularity Continues to Endure
The recent auction of “Breaking Bad” props featured a range of items from the popular series, including Skyler White’s cigarette packs, Jesse Pinkman’s bong, and a spare copy of Walter White’s “Leaves of Grass” book. Other items have been sold in previous auctions, including an El Camino used in the Netflix sequel “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie,” which sold for $23,650.
The continued interest in “Breaking Bad” memorabilia is well attributed to the show’s enduring popularity. Despite ending in 2013 after five acclaimed seasons, fans continue to re-watch the series on streaming platforms. Its spinoff series, “Better Call Saul,” also enjoyed success before concluding its own six-season run last year.

While there are no immediate plans for any more tv shows or films set in the universe, it’s clear that the show’s fan-base remains strong. It’s likely that we’ll continue to see high prices fetched for other props from the series in future auctions.
