Gen Xers and Millennials, get ready to turn to dust. American Girl, a company that specializes in creating historically accurate dolls, just released a set of 90s twins to celebrate their 24th birthday- March 22nd, 1999.

The new dolls are Nicki and Isabel [the fact that neither are named Heather is a crime], and they live in Settle, Washington. Since Settle is also the birthplace of grunge music, a style that is synonymous with the decade. Though we’re pretty sure the trend was long over by the time they were born. While twins the girls both encapsulate very different styles of the ‘90s.

Isabel looks like she could be an extra in “Clueless” with her style and hobbies. She loves dancing, pop music, glitter, and of course all things bubblegum pink. She prefers pink and preppy fashions, even when they make her stand out from the crowd. As if!

On the other hand, Nicki loves alternative rock music, skateboarding, and making zines. “Which are like homemade magazines,” the website explains. Which, to be fair, is probably the most 90s hobby possible, next to programming the VCR. Since all the cool kids now just save on papercuts and blog.

While both come dressed at the height of ‘90s fashion, their accessories are really where its at. The girls’ bedroom sets both look like they were ripped from the pages of Seventeen Magazine. It comes with things like smiley and alien-faced pillows, inflatable furniture, and a desk that houses a cordless phone, huge computer monitor, and burned mix CDs.

But the best accessory has to be the BOOK IT! set. That’s right, the twins read enough books to earn some Pizza Hut! The set comes with a personal pan pizza, the famous Pizza Hut red transparent cup, and pretend parmesan and red pepper shaker. Plus a doll-sized purple BOOK IT! pin replica, that can clip onto any clothing, with a mini “free pizza” certificate. A doll-sized version of Super Slumber Parties, an American Girl book for girls released in 1997, completes the set. Though we’d like to point out that book came out before the twins were even born.

Both Nicki, Isabel, and their nostalgia-blasted accessories are available on the American Girl website.
