Pop singer JoJo Siwa (“So You Think You Can Dance”) and Jade Pettyjohn (“Little Fires Everywhere”) will star in the new horror thriller “My Friends Are Dead.” Marcus Dunstan (“Saw 3D“) directs from a screenplay by Josh Sims and Jessica Sarah Flaum.

“My Friends Are Dead” will follow a group of college friends who get a steal on an Airbnb, just in time for the biggest music festival of the year. But the festivities quickly turn south when they begin to be murdered one by one. They soon realize each death coincides with one of the seven deadly sins.
Siwa already seems hyped about the new horror flick. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the upcoming movie “All My Friends Are Dead,” Siwa said in a statement. “This is a project that is so different from anything I’ve done previously; however, I absolutely love horror movies and I can’t wait to start production! I’m also excited to work with Jade again. We worked together when we were younger and can’t wait to create this movie together.”

The project is still in the casting process but plans to begin filming in Canada this spring. Film Mode holds the international right to “My Friends Are Dead” and is currently shopping it at the European Film Market. It seems that Splendid will hold the rights in Germany and Benelux and Falcon will be covering the Middle East.
John Baldecchi (“Happy Death Day 2U”) will act as producer. Dominic Ianno (“Soul Surfer”), Jason Resnick (“Kidnap”), and Kevin Greutert (“Jackals”) are executive producing. Alongside Clay Epstein of Film Mode Entertainment and Dan Rubin the CEO of Budding Equity.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about “My Friends Are Dead” as they become available.
