    James Gunn Says “The Flash” is ‘Greatest Superhero Movie Ever’

    Honestly, we’re a little surprised to read this quote from DC Studios co-head James Gunn. Sure, it COULD be true, but considering what a mess “The Flash” has been, how could it possibly be good? We’re speaking of course about Andy Muschietti‘s much troubled DC Comics film starring Ezra Miller. Some of the issues plaguing the production don’t really mean it’ll be bad, but, we’re doubtful.

    During a major press conference to discuss the future of WB’s DC Studios, Gunn commented about the film. Not only is it still coming out, but Gunn said it is “probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.”

    The troubled star of the project, Ezra Miller, has had a pretty rough couple of years. From being one of the rising stars to come out of WB- both in superhero and “Wizarding World” films- to lawsuits and felonies, it seemed like Miller needed help.

    “Ezra is completely committed to their recovery, and we are fully supportive of that journey that they’re on right now,” co-head of DC Studios Peter Safran said. “When the time is right, when they feel like they’re ready to have the discussion, we’ll all figure out what the best path forward is. But right now, they are completely focused on their recovery. And in our conversations with them over the last couple of months, it feels like they’re making enormous progress.”

    We’re really happy to hear that. Miller is very talented, and seeing them take things seriously after how bad they got is the first step. As far as seeing Miller return for another DC Studios project, it seems likely.

    “There’s no reason why any of the characters and the actors playing those characters [The Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, and Blue Beetle] are not part of the DCU,” Safran said. “There’s nothing that prohibits that from happening.”

    “The Flash” is set to hit theaters June 16th, 2023. Expect a new trailer to hit during Super Bowl LVII, February 12th.
