People Are Selling Water From Splash Mountain’s Final Day

Many diehard Disney parks fans are feeling some kind of way about Walt Disney World permanently closing Splash Mountain on January 22nd. But this sudden burst of nostalgia has lead to some…interesting…eBay listings to commemorate the ride. Specifically, people are pulling a full-on Belle Delphine and selling water collected from the ride. Though we have a feeling Delphine’s was more hygienic…seriously, have you SMELLED the water on these rides?!

Some enterprising fans have listed jars of water supposedly collected from the final day of the ride, and listed them for sale on eBay. One of the top listings is titled “Disney’s Splash Mountain Water 4oz Limted [sic] 1/22/2023.”  It is priced to move with a buy-it-now option for $149.95, and they’ll even throw in free shipping! The listing is accompanied by an image of a jar of water being held up in front of the Splash Mountain sign. We are guessing to prove the source for this now rare, high-quality, H2O. But the listing was ended by the seller around 7:30am January 24th.

Of course with the internet being the internet, parody listings of the item soon followed. One was for a Splash Mountain-branded ziploc bag and tap water that was listed for $25,000. But these sellers aren’t trying to fool potential buyers either.  “This is obviously just for fun and to make fun of the people who are really selling water from a ride,” the listing states. “I’m a Disney fan but come on people has the world gotten so doomed that people would buy water from a ride. Smh if you really want this water buy it. I’ll even do free shipping! Have a magical day!”

That offer has now ended citing an “error” in the listing.

Orlando’s Splash Mountain had its last ride Sunday, January 22nd to make way for the “The Princess and the Frog” themed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. It is slated to open in 2024. The audience will join Princess Tiana and the jazz-loving alligator Louis as they prepare a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration.

Disneyland’s Splash Mountain doesn’t have a set date for closure yet, but it’s expected to be sometime in February.
