Those of us who love anime may be partial to a certain genre or type. Problem is that there seems to be so much anime now it’s hard to pick and choose. Of course we’ll be watching “Demon Slayer,” “My Hero Academia,” and “Attack on Titan.” But we also want to make sure that we’re hitting those shows that we might not know we like until we try them. For example “Birdie Wing: A Golf Girls Story” doesn’t sound like a sports anime that one would normally go for. It is however a story filled with drama, high stakes situations and one that you’ll want to keep watching even after the episode ends.

Here’s a list of 15 anime to watch on Crunchyroll while you’re waiting for the Winter season.

“Sasaki and Miyano” (Studio Deen) – Drama

Miyano spends his days reading Boys’ Love manga and worrying about the soft features of his face. His world of fiction becomes reality when a chance encounter leads him to high school senior Sasaki in the middle of a fight. Now, Sasaki wants to spend every opportunity he can to get to know Miyano. And what was once admiration quickly turns into affection. Catch it on Crunchyroll.

    “Aoashi” (Production I.G) – Sports

After a loss in his last junior high school soccer tourney, Ehime Prefecture’s ace player, Ashito Aoi, is devastated but in every loss there’s a victory. Tatsuya Fukuda, manager of an organization that trains students for one of the leading clubs in the J-League, sees Ashito’s raw talent and offers a tryout to his group. Together they’ll bring the youth club and Aoshi’s talents to new heights! Catch it on Crunchyroll.

“BOCCHI THE ROCK!” (Cloverworks) – Music / Comedy

The story follows Hitori “Bocchi-chan” (“Loner”) Goto, a lonely high school girl whose heart lies in her guitar. She does nothing every day except strum her guitar by herself at home. However, she happens one day to meet Nijika Ijichi, who is looking for a guitarist for her group named “Kessoku Band.” Also on Crunchyroll.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (Sunrise) – Mecha / Action

With her favorite outfit on, Komichi feels ready for anything.

Miss KUROITSU from the Monster Development Department (Quad) – Comedy / Sci-Fi

Joining him on this epic saga to save the country is a giant crab and a young doctor. Can this unlikely trio find the fabled fungi and save the land?

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai (Felix Film) – Comedy / Romance

When fellow student Raido picks up an eraser she drops, Aharen-san decides they’re now best friends. Whether studying, playing the arcade, or just eating lunch—she’s along for the ride. What follows is an impromptu bonding that shows affection can blossom in the unlikeliest of places!

BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls’ Story- (Bandai Namco Pictures) – Sports

Fore! After Eve’s first meet up with Aoi on the grass left her in defeat, she’s had her eyes set on a rematch to return the favor. With dreams of making it pro, a rivalry is getting in full swing as they both battle it out in the biggest tournaments.

Heroines Run the Show (Lay-duce) – Drama / Music

Parallel World Pharmacy (Diomedéa) – Isekai / Fantasy

When pharmacologist Kanji Yakutani dies, he probably wasn’t thinking he’d be reincarnated as a boy apprentice in a medieval world. The distinguished medical researcher finds himself now surrounded by quack medicines swindling the common good. With his past experience and a new set of supernatural powers, he’ll go from cutting-edge medical technology to now reforming healthcare for all!
