This article will take you through the different methods and explain why each is successful. So don’t wait – start recovering your deleted videos today!

Part 1: How to Find Deleted Videos on a Windows PC?

Try searching for the folder using the following methods before trying to retrieve deleted videos using other methods:

    Search using Start Menu

You might have moved the video files to a different location rather than deleting them completely. Windows’ search functions allow you to search across your storage space.

In the Start Menu, you will find the first option for searching. To find the video file, click the Start Menu and type its name in the search bar. To view only video files, select More > Videos.

    Search using the File Explorer

It is also possible to search video files in File Explorer even when they have not been deleted. Enter the video file’s name in the top search bar and press Win + E to launch File Explorer.

    Recycle Bin

If Recycle Bin, Shift + Del shortcut, or emptying the Recycle Bin do not permanently delete files, so you might find deleted videos in your Recycle Bin. When you find the video files in the Recycle Bin, right-click on them and select Restore.

Part 2: How to Recover Deleted Videos on Windows 7/10/11?

You can find some solutions below to recover deleted videos:

Solution 1: Restore Deleted Videos from Recycle Bin in Your Computer

Deleted files are temporarily stored in the Recycle Bin in Windows to be easily recovered.

Restoring a video from the Windows Recycle Bin is as simple as:

    1. Select the desktop icon Recycle Bin and double-click it.

    2. To restore a video file, locate it.

    3. Restore the file by right-clicking it.

We will restore the file to its original location. In addition to dragging and dropping selected files, you can also select files from external storage devices. Move your videos from the Recycle Bin window to the File Explorer window by opening File Explorer, navigating to the preferred recovery location, and clicking on the recovery location.

The Recycle Bin does not always contain deleted files. Shift + Delete keyboard shortcuts permanently delete files, as do formatted storage devices and files deleted using the Shift + Delete keyboard shortcut.

Solution 2: Using Professional Data Recovery Tool to Get Back Deleted Videos (Even Emptied Recycle Bin)

If you’ve accidentally deleted a video or photo on your Windows computer, there’s a good chance that you can recover it with Tenorshare 4DDiG. It is a software application that accesses hidden files and partitions on your computer to retrieve deleted files.

Before learning to use Tenorshare 4DDiG, let’s find out what great features it has:

    • Recover deleted videos from a variety of different devices, including SD cards, laptops or PCs, internal and external drives, USB flash drives, etc.
    • It is capable of recovering more than a thousand file types such as videos, photos, audio and documents.
    • Recover videos lost due to virus attacks, system crashes or lost partitions.
    • Support many video formats such as MP4, AVI, MOV, MKV, AMV, F4V, SWF, MPG, RM/RMVB, MPEG, TS, VOB, MTS, DV, etc.
    • No need to worry about malicious pop-ups and virus software.

    Follow the steps below:

    1. Once Tenorshare 4DDiG Windows Data Recovery has been installed and launched, the home interface is shown below, including Data Recovery & Advanced Options. We can start by selecting the local disk where our data was lost from a list of hard drives, then clicking Start. The window’s upper-right corner allows you to choose target file types before scanning.

    2. Once you’ve identified the files you want to recover, 4DDiG searches the specified drive for missing data immediately, and you can pause or stop the search at any time. Under the Tree View, you’ll find categories like Deleted Files, Existing Files, Lost Locations, RAW Files, and Tag Files. Switching to File View lets you view different types of files, such as photos, videos, documents, audio files, and emails. Moreover, you can use the Filter option on the right side of the panel to narrow down your search.

    3. As soon as the target files are discovered, they can be viewed and recovered to a secure location. It is recommended not to save to the same partition if you have overwritten your disk and your data has been permanently lost.

Solution 3: Recover Deleted Videos via The Feature of File History Backup

The File History feature in Windows automatically backs up versions of files. For this method to work, your PC must already have installed the File History backup option. If that is the case, here is how to recover deleted videos using File History:

    • Choose the Best match in the Start Menu when searching for File History.
    • You can restore personal files by clicking the Restore personal files option on the left.
    • Backing up folders will appear in a list. You can now recover the video file by navigating to the location where the file is stored.
    • By clicking on the green recover button at the bottom of the screen, you will be able to recover the video file (or the entire folder) you selected.

You will be able to retrieve the video files from their original location. If you performed any edits recently, you might lose those if the recovered video is not the latest version.
