    Blazer Fabric Types

Blazers are classic pieces of clothing that are always in style. A must-have among all gentlemen’s wardrobes. The blazer fabric type you choose will depend on the climate you live in and the occasion you are wearing it for. For example, if it is hot weather, gabardine provides a lightweight alternative to wool as it is breathable, making it ideal for warmer climates. When choosing the colour and fabric type of your blazer, it is essential to consider how formal the occasion is to fit in with the theme. The same way that Nikola Valenti covers many different styles of looks, the right blazer is necessary to complete it. Different fabrics are available to choose from, and each has its benefits. These include:

    1. Wool

Wool is the best at keeping you warm and is an ideal fabric for evening wear. It provides a robust alternative to other fabrics, such as cotton and linen, which are more easily damaged and, therefore, unsuitable for evening wear. If you intend to wear your blazer for an evening event and are still deciding what fabric to choose, a combination of cotton twill with a hint of wool works well. The cotton makes the fabric easier to wash and care for, and the wool adds a little more luxury.

    2. Linen

Linen is an elegant fabric due to its soft texture, which makes it easy to care for. It is perfect for formal evening wear when you want a lightweight fabric that will not be too warm and can be matched with another colour or style of jacket to create an outfit. There are also subtle variations in colour available, so you can choose a tone with some colour variation to match your outfit better. Wearing linen in the summer is a great way to look professional without adding weight to your outfit.

    3. Cotton twill

Cotton twill is an excellent alternative to cotton gabardine, particularly if you want an elegant look and want something that goes well with a tie. It has a slight sheen, which makes it stand out from other fabrics. It is perfect for informal gatherings where the weather is hot, and you want something lightweight but warm. You can pair it with a cotton bow tie to help give your outfit a – ties.

    4. Tweed

Tweed is the material for an elegant and casual look. It is ideal for a smart-casual look, making it perfect for business meetings and informal social occasions such as wearing tweed blazers. You can team it with a suit, a tie and solid-coloured shoes to give a more formal appearance. There are also subtle variations in colour available within the fabric range, so you can choose the tone that best compliments your outfit.

    5. Velvet

Velvet is the most formal fabric available. It is comfortable but has a luxurious feel, so it is perfect for evening wear. You can wear velvet with a tuxedo or waistcoat to create a smart and elegant appearance. There are also subtle variations in tone, so you can choose the tone that matches your outfit best. More subtle colours can be matched better with a tie than louder colours, so this is an excellent fabric to choose if you want your jacket to be worn on formal occasions.

There are many different fabrics available to suit any style and wardrobe on blazers. Choosing the suitable fabric for the occasion is essential to create the right image for yourself and look professional. Depending on what you are doing in your blazer, the type of fabric you choose will vary.
