adult swim’s hit animated show “Rick and Morty” won’t officially be back for season 6 until next month, but they ARE giving fans a Halloween special! The new claymation horror short is called “Summer’s Sleepover.”

“Rick and Morty” follows sociopathic genius scientist, Rick, who lives with his daughter Beth, son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty. While Rick gets the whole family into all sorts of situations he especially loves dragging his timid grandson Morty along on increasingly fantastical and insane adventures. Often leaving planet earth and facing all types of dangers on their quests.

    Adult Swim

The show is created and executive produced by Dan Harmon (“Community”) and Justin Roiland (“Solar Opposites”). It stars Roiland, Sarah Chalke (“Scrubs”), Chris Parnell (“Saturday Night Live”), and Spencer Grammer (“Greek”).

The upcoming 6th season is described as picking up “where we left them, worse for wear and down on their luck. Will they manage to bounce back for more adventures? Or will they get swept up in an ocean of piss! Who knows?! Piss! Family! Intrigue! A bunch of dinosaurs! More piss!”

The Halloween short “Summer’s Sleepover” will be a claymation, done with the aid of animator Lee Hardcastle (“The ABCs of Death”). Hardcastle has worked on “Rick and Morty” previously for a spoof of the A24 horror film “Hereditary.” The bit played before the premiere of season 5. “Summer’s Sleepover” is a trippy horror short that will revolve around some unexpected guests at Summer’s sleepover party.

“Summer’s Sleepover” will air on Adult Swim on October 30th at midnight. It will be available globally the next day on HBO Max, and adult swim’s YouTube channel.

Season 6 of “Rick and Morty” premieres November 20th.
