Pizza Hut is rolling out a new personal pizza flavor option, and it’s something that pineapple lovers might want to try. A durian and mango-topped cheese pizza is now on the menu for about $18 USD. The downside? You can only get it in Taiwan.
This isn’t the first time interesting flavor combinations for pizza have come from Taiwan. Others have included things like pig’s blood cake, or a single pizza with fried chicken, tempura, and Oreos all on one pie. But…durian and mango at Pizza Hut?

Durian is an interesting choice for aroma alone. The smell has been compared to gym socks, rotting garbage, and raw sewage. But if you can hold your nose, the taste is something like chives and powdered sugar. Some say it is supposed to taste like diced garlic and caramel poured into whipped cream. Some countries have rules about not eating durian in public places, so we’re not sure how well this would go over in the office. Assuming that the smell of pizza sauce and cheese can overtake this odd fruit, it may be fine to try without your gag reflex activating.
Mango of course we know as that sweet treat that tastes mildly citrusy with melon notes. This one makes more sense for Americans who think that pineapple on pizza is an acceptable combo.
Some people HATE this.
Of course, if it were available here, I’d totally try it. But for those not able to get this odd pizza, SoraNews24 has done the work for us.
