    This just in-

Seth MacFarlane, who apparently doesn’t like to be idle with his time, has announced a new series for Peacock. The NBC streaming platform will be the home of “The End is Nye,” starring the one and only Bill Nye “The Science Guy.” Hailing from MacFarlane, Brannon Braga, and Nye, the series aims to detail and explain possible world-ending catastrophic occurrences.

Peacock will “send Nye into the most epic global disasters imaginable – both natural and unnatural – and then demystifies them using science to show how we can survive, mitigate, and even prevent them. Each stand-alone episode takes a hell-bent dive into the mystery and terror of one specific threat. Every catastrophe is abundant with thrills, but also offer hope and a way forward —a scientific blueprint for surviving anything that comes our way.”

“Right now our world is a very scary place, and yet full of opportunities to make life better for all of us— for everyone on Earth,” said Nye in a statement. “Speaking of Earth, the big idea behind The End Is Nye is that for the first time in the history of our planet, we humans can control our fate. We can see the potential for these overwhelming disasters, and we have the means to avoid them. With science, we can change the world.”

All six episodes of the unscripted series will release on Peacock August 25th, 2022.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
