We often find some pretty spectacular fan ideas on Reddit. A recent comment from Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has the wheels turning about a Lando Calrissian “Star Wars” project still being possible. Fan consensus wants Billy Dee Williams and Donald Glover to star in the film or tv series together.
As an old friend to Han Solo, a Lando project would compliment “Solo: A Star Wars Story” pretty well. Calrissian was a smooth-talking smuggler in his prime; his wit and sense of humor would be great to watch.
Redditors came up with a great pitch. An older Lando (played by Billy Dee Williams) is sitting in a cantina reminiscing and telling stories from his past. As he does so, we get to see young Lando (Donald Glover) act them out. During the stories, there would be cuts back to the cantina where the friends he’s telling the stories say “that never happened.” Then the story continues, and audiences get to see the many adventures he had before “Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.”
We hope this pitch doesn’t get lost in the shuffle. Whomever is in charge of these things at Disney, PLEASE make this happen. Maybe if we get this idea out there enough, it will come to fruition. May the force be with us.
