A24 and Plan B are teaming up for David Michôd’s “Wizards!.” The film will star Pete Davidson, Naomi Scott (“Aladdin“) and Sean Harris (“Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation“).
The story will feature Davidson and Franz Rogowski as two hapless pothead beach-bar operators who run into trouble when they stumble across stolen loot that they really should have just left alone. Judging by the title, we’re assuming magic comes into play in “Wizards!.”
The screenplay will be written by Michôd, based on a story he wrote along with Joel Edgerton. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B Entertainment will produce alongside Liz Watts.
“Wizards!” will be filmed in Queensland, with the support of the Morrison Government’s Location Incentive program, and the Queensland Government via Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.
We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other projects. We’ll next be seeing Davidson in NBC’s “Bupkis,” which is based on the “Saturday Night Live” star’s life. Lorne Michaels is an executive producer on it.
