Sean Penn in Ukraine Filming Russian Invasion Documentary

What’s on everyone’s minds today as Russia has invaded Ukraine is what is going to happen. To the people, to the region- to the world. With everyone on edge and things perpetually in limbo, we’ve got word that Sean Penn is currently in Ukraine as these unprovoked attacks are happening. He appeared Thursday in Ukrainian capitol city Kyiv, to start filming the truth of what’s going on. Essentially putting himself in danger for the sake of documenting this from the inside.

Sean Penn appears on PBS’s “Firing Line.”

Reports have Penn visiting Ukraine in November 2021, speaking to government officials, and discussing what was going on then. Now, the Office of the President of Ukraine says Penn is showing “courage and honesty.”

Russia invaded the Ukraine in what they are calling “a special military operation.” Vladimir Putin has warned other countries not to get involved unless they want “such consequences as you have never before experienced in your history.” He also said that civilians would not be harmed in the invasion but with bombing on all sides of the country that’s hard to believe.

The Ukraine is the second-largest country by area in Europe after Russia, which it borders to the east and north-east.

If you would like to keep up on what is going on on the ground, CNN’s Daniel Dale has compiled a list of reporters who are currently in the region, and are updating live.

Our thoughts are with everyone being effected by this unlawful invasion.
