We Tried Little Caesar’s “The Batman” Calzony Pizza

Are any Little Caesars reps reading this right now? If so, I have a bone to pick because you obviously should have called it the cowl-zone vs calzony. It’s a no brainer, Batman wears a cowl! Anyway now thats over we can get to the review part. For all our Nerdbot readers, if you were on the fence about trying the new Batman pizza made in honor of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” I’m here to tell you it’s really REALLY good. I’d even go as far to say it’s Batman good.

    Presentation

Of course this pizza gets full points for being so Batman-y. In fact, my husband bought two of them just so he could admire one while eating the other. He’s a pretty dedicated Batman fan. And since we grew up in the 80s and 90s, movie food tie-ins are always a fun thing for us to try together.

When you open the box, you’re presented with a bat-shaped pizza. The cowl and what I assume is the other cowl- like some weird king on a playing card has a head at the top and the bottom- are made of calzones. I suppose that’s where you get the name calzony, but I still stand firm that it should have been cowl-zone. Then you have a spread of wing-shaped pizza that is cut into squares. And a giant thing of marinara/ crazy sauce comes on the side.

    Taste

Obviously the calzone is the best part. It was buttery and covered in delicious flavoring. It’s filled with garlic white sauce that has pepperoni julienned and sprinkled throughout. The pepperoni is large enough that they burst with flavor and compliment the white sauce nicely.

This peperoni pizza was also much better than their standard Hot-N-Ready pizzas. It had a great cheese-to-crust ratio, which usually isn’t the case. And the peperoni were ample, making it so every piece was covered with at least one and a half peperonis. This stuff matters when you’re feeding kids ya’know.

Leave The Crazy Sauce on The Side

One thing that always disappoints me is the temperature of the crazy sauce aka marinara. It’s always just a bit too cold for me to enjoy on my pizza. I’d say leave this on the side and just enjoy the calzone as is. It’s definitely good enough that it can be enjoyed on its own.

    Overall Rating

I’m going to give this pizza a solid 9/10. It’s definitely THE BEST thing you can order from Little Caesars right now. But, if you really want to take it to the next level skip that marinara, and go straight for LC’s Buffalo Ranch sauce. You’ll thank me later!

“The Batman” is set to hit theaters on March 4th, 2022.
