Get ready for “The Big Brunch” from “Schitt’s Creek” co-creator and star Dan Levy! The show will be a reality cooking competition series. Levy is also going to be hosting the series.

Technically speaking, Levy is no stranger to cooking competition shows. He served as the host of “The Great Canadian Baking Show” for two seasons.

    “The Big Brunch” describes itself:

“Created by Levy and centering around one of the most versatile and underestimated dining experiences, ‘The Big Brunch’ is a cooking competition series that celebrates the most inspiring undiscovered culinary voices from every corner of the country. Chefs will be offered the opportunity to share their stories and their business dreams, while also competing for a life altering prize. All while finding innovative and personal ways to redefine what it means to dine between 11am and 3pm.”

The show is being produced by Boardwalk Pictures. They are responsible for another cooking themed show, “Chef’s Table” which airs on Netflix. They also produce Gwenyth Paltrow’s “Sex, Love & Goop.”

This will be adding to HBO Max’s ever growing cornucopia of competition reality shows. They have everything from the wholesome “The Great Pottery Throw Down” to the more lewd “FBOY Island.” Yes, the latter is a real show.

    All in the Family

Dan isn’t the only member of the Levy family to be heading to reality television. His father and the other “Schitt’s Creek” co-creator and star, Eugene Levy, is heading to Apple TV+ for a travel series. Sarah Levy seems to be keeping to scripted work with “SurrealEstate” – even though that absolutely sounds like the name of a reality competition show where realtors compete to sell haunted houses…

“The Big Brunch” is set to premiere in 2022. Until then you can find us folding in the cheese by rewatching “Schitt’s Creek” a few more times.
