Surprise! Disney+ Releases First Trailer for Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye”

Okay, whoever decided that Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” needed to be a Christmas tale, with serious “Die Hard” vibes- good job! That fits Jeremy Renner‘s “Avengers” hero pretty damn perfectly.

Needless to say, we were pretty pleasantly surprised this morning when Disney+ released the first trailer for their upcoming series. Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop alongside Renner’s Clint Barton is an excellent choice.

Can we all agree that “Rogers: The Musical” needs to happen?

    On to the trailer!

Florence Pugh is reprising her “Black Widow” role of Yelena Belova. Vera Farmiga will be playing Kate Bishop’s mother Eleanor.  Fra Fee will be playing Marvel Comics character Clown, Tony Dalton will be Swordsman, and Alaqua Cox will be deaf Native American superhero Echo. Cox herself is both deaf, AND Native American, so that’s pretty awesome. Zach McClarnon and Brian d’Arcy James round out the cast.

Rhys Thomas serves as show runner, along with directors Bert and Bertie.

    “Hawkeye” hits Disney+ on November 24th, 2021.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
