Capcom has been celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Resident Evil” in multiple ways across 2021. In addition to releasing the critically and commercially successful video game title “Resident Evil: Village,” an anime was confirmed for this year too.
Sure enough- “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” is here on Netflix TODAY, July 8th, 2021.

Four-episode series “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” takes place after the events of “Resident Evil 4,” and focuses on Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield teaming up to combat a viral attack against the White House. Those well versed in the lore of the series would recall that Leon spent his time through “Resident Evil 4″ trying to rescue Ashley, the daughter of the President of the United States. As a special agent for the President, Leon’s presence here makes perfect sense. As for Claire showing up, guess we’ll have to watch the series to find out how she’s involved. …Or you can watch the trailer below for some further plot details.
Netflix also has a live-action “Resident Evil” series coming down the line. We reported last month that Lance Reddick had been cast as everyone’s favorite Umbrella operative, Albert Wesker. So, if you need to fill a T-Virus sized gap in your life between playing “RE: Village” and waiting for the new series or rebooted film franchise, now you’ve got something animated to sink your teeth into.
