Marvel Studios Next “Fantastic Four” Announcement Happening at NYCC?

Many Marvel Comics fans are anxiously awaiting news of the first family of the funny papers coming to Disney’s Marvel Studios. Long rumored and recently teased, the Fantastic Four will reportedly be making their MCU debut at some point in the future. How near or how far is still up in the air, but we’re kinda thinking maybe it’ll be soon.

Especially when paired with a new Kevin Feige quote from the Marvel Studios’ boss.

When recently asked by Entertainment Tonight during the red carpet premiere of “Black Widow” about possible Fantastic Four news, Feige coyly said:

“Everything we make is hopefully with the intention of exceeding expectations and fulfilling surprises. Not every rumor you read about online is true, not by a long shot, but not every one is false either. So that’s the fun. We’ll see what happens with upcoming gatherings and fan events where we can release more news. I hope sometime in the near future.”

‘Upcoming gatherings and fan events’ sure sounds promising, and what better place to announce possible Fantastic Four updates than New York City’s upcoming NYCC, October 7th-10th? Sure, it’ll be a more intimate show this year, but promising nonetheless.

Last we heard, director John Watts (“Spider-Man“) had been tapped to direct the Fantastic Four feature film, but that’s kinda where the official info stops.

We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other possible Marvel Studios news. We’re still waiting on that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer to drop anytime now.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
